Bitumen Modified Emulsion Protective Coating

Description

Pak waterproofing Bitumen shield is a dark brown liquid blend of selected Bitumen which are a emulsified with water. It dries to form a black flexible protective coating. The cured film is tough and waterproof which is resistant to the passage of water and vapors transmission.

Standards Compliance

Pak waterproofing Bitumen shield complies with a concrete curing requirement of ASTM C 309-93 when applied at a rate of 2m² per litre.

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

All surfaces, which are to receive the coating, must be sound and free from contamination such as Oil, Laitance, grease, wax, dirt or any other form of foreign matter, which could affect adhesion.

Application

Pak waterproofing Bitumen shield may be applied by brush, broom or squeegee.

It is recommended that 1-3 coats should be applied, depending on the degree of protection required.

Where the Pak waterproofing Bitumen shield is to take a screed, the second coat should be blinded with clean, dry sharp sand as soon as applied. The excess sand should be brushed off when the coating has dried.

Storage

Shelf life is1 year unopened packs stored below 25°C in a shaded environment If stored at high temperature the shell life will be reduced.

Precautions

Health & Safety

Pak waterproofing Bitumen shield contains bituminous material. It has a possible risk of irreversible effect in contact with skin wear suitable protective

clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. In case of accidental skin contact remove immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice.

Cleaning

Pak waterproofing Bitumen shield may be removed from tools and equipment with water when It is wet. On drying.

Pak waterproofing Bitumen shield may be removed with Ultra Solvent 103.

Fire

Pak waterproofing Bitumen shield is not flammable. Ultra Solvent 103 is flammable.

Storage:

Avoid to place direct to sun light and always store in shady areas.
